Computing Professional Enrichment & Development Division (CoPED) was established in March 2009 and located at the School of Computing (SOC), UUM College of Arts and Sciences. The existence of this division is part of the strategic aim to portray Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) as a professional IT training and test centre/provider.  The aim is to validate the respective students’ education, experience, and skills as well as other potential clients by offering consultation service and various related trainings and certifications. The trainings are categorized into internal and external consisting of short courses, in-house and executive development trainings. Such courses and trainings include those as planned by CoPED or upon special request from clients. The available trainings are open for all UUM students and staff as well as those from outside. Most importantly the trainings helps in equipping the learners with necessary knowledge and skills to remain competitive in the highly competitive work market. Thus, such exposure will be an added value to progress further in their respective careers. CoPED has also been appointed by Pearson VUE as an authorized online test centre that allow individuals to sit for various related professional certification examinations.
